Together We Build a Goose-down Quilt: Emoji Animation
In the winter of 2021, I embarked on a creative journey to create an emoji animation that would bring joy to others. My animation, "Together We Build a Goose-down Quilt," tells the story of a community coming together to make a warm and comfortable quilt for someone in need.The animation opens with a winter scene, showing snowfall and trees covered in ice. Then, suddenly, a young girl appears on the scene, shivering in the cold. She is clearly in need of warmth, and it is at this point that the community steps in to help.Next, we see various characters from the community—old and young, male and female—bringing their own patches of goose-down to the young girl. Each patch is unique, representing the individuality of each person in the community. Together, these patches form a beautiful quilt that provides the young girl with the warmth she needs.The animation ends with the young girl wrapped in the quilt, smiling and looking content. She is now protected from the cold, and so is the community that came together to help her. The message of the animation is clear: when we work together, we can create something beautiful and useful that benefits everyone involved.
In the colder months, there’s nothing more comforting than snuggling under a warm, cozy goose-down quilt. The thought of building such a quilt with loved ones, using emoji to communicate, brings joy and warmth to the heart.
This is the story of how we built our very own goose-down quilt using emoji animation. It all began when my friend and I were talking about the cold weather and how much we loved our goose-down quilts. We decided to share our love for these quilts by creating an emoji animation that captured the joy of making one together.
We set out to find the perfect tools to help us create our animation. After some research, we settled on using Procreate on our iPad Pros. We loved the flexibility it gave us in terms of drawing and editing, plus it made it easy to share our creation with friends and family.
Once we had our tools in place, we got to work on our animation. We started by drawing the outline of our quilt, using a combination of geometric shapes to create the structure. Then, we added the fill color, giving it a realistic look.
Next, we added the embroidery to our quilt. We chose a floral design that complemented the color scheme of our quilt. The embroidery gave our creation a unique and personal touch that we both loved.
Once our quilt was complete, we added the final touches, including a border that featured our favorite emoji—the laughing face with heart-eyes. This border added a fun and playful element to our animation that we both found irresistible.
After several hours of work, our animation was finally complete. We were so proud of what we had created and couldn’t wait to share it with others. We sent it to our friends and family, who all loved it and commented on how cute and creative it was.
