She suggested that I try washing the duvet with some vinegar and water to see if that would help get rid of the smell. She said that vinegar is a natural deodorizer and might be able to absorb some of the odors in the duck feathers.

So, I gave it a try. I mixed some vinegar with water and poured it into the washing machine with my duvet. I let it soak for a while and then washed it like normal. When it came out of the dryer, I immediately noticed a difference. The smell was still there, but it was much less pronounced and more manageable. I could still detect a slight scent of duck manure, but it was not as strong or unpleasant as before.

I also found some other tips online for getting rid of duck-feather smells, like using baking soda or essential oils to absorb the odors. But I am not sure if those methods will work as well as the vinegar and water treatment did for me. At least now, I can sleep under my duvet without being overwhelmed by an unpleasant smell every time I close my eyes at night.
