2-Year-Old Child and the Duck Feather Blanket: A Bedtime Story

The duck feather blanket was a gift from her grandparents on her second birthday. It was a deep purple color with a beautiful pattern of ducks floating on a pond. Lily immediately fell in love with the blanket and demanded to be wrapped up in it every night before bedtime.
"Grandparents are so thoughtful," Lily's mother said with a smile. "They always know how to find the best gifts for us."
Lily's bedtime routine was simple but comforting. She would take a warm bath, wear her favorite pajamas, and then be wrapped up in the duck feather blanket. It was the perfect way to relax before falling asleep.
One night, while Lily was peacefully sleeping under the blanket, a gust of wind blew open the window and extinguished the candle. The room was plunged into darkness, but Lily didn't seem to notice. She was too tired and content to care about anything else.
"Lily, are you sure you want to go to bed?" Lily's mother asked, coming into the room with a new candle. "You don't seem very interested in tonight's story."
"I'm tired, Mommy," Lily said, snuggling closer to the blanket. "I just want to go to sleep."
Lily's mother nodded and blew out the candle, leaving the room in darkness once again. But this time, something different happened. As soon as the candle was extinguished, Lily felt a strange sensation under the blanket. It was as if something were moving or fluttering against her skin.
"Who's there?" Lily said, suddenly frightened. She pulled the blanket tighter around her and huddled in a corner of the bed.
"Lily, what's wrong?" Lily's mother said, rushing back into the room with a lantern. "Are you feeling scared?"
"Yes, Mommy," Lily said, tears welling in her eyes. "I feel like someone is touching me under the blanket."
Lily's mother looked at her with concern and then back at the blanket. She noticed that it was moving slightly, as if something were inside of it. She quickly snatched it up and shook it out, revealing a small duckling hiding inside.
"Lily, it's just a little duckling!" Lily's mother said with a laugh. "He must have flown in through the window and gotten trapped in the blanket."
Lily looked at the duckling with wide eyes and then burst into tears of laughter. She had never seen such a cute and cuddly little creature before. She immediately took the duckling into her arms and started to feed it some of her favorite bedtime snacks.
"Lily, you're being so kind to him," Lily's mother said with a smile. "He must have been frightened when he first got trapped in the blanket."
"I know," Lily said, snuggling the duckling against her cheek. "But I'm here to help him now."
As the night drew to a close, Lily and her new little friend were still cuddling together on the bed. They had become fast friends and were already planning their next adventure together. And as for the duck feather blanket? It was still lying on the bed, but now it was just a regular old blanket without any special secrets hidden inside of it anymore.
