I hung the duvet up to air dry, feeling a sense of triumph wash over me. I had fixed my mistake, and now my favorite bedtime companion was as good as new. I could hardly wait to get back into bed with it tonight and snuggle down for a good night's sleep.
The moral of this story? Well, first of all, don't use vinegar to clean your duck feather bedspread if you want to keep it looking new. And secondly, when something breaks or gets stained beyond recognition, don't despair: With a little bit of research and some elbow grease, you can always find a way to fix it up so that it's as good as new again.
